An icon depicting Christ Pantocrator in a full-length frontal representation. With His right hand, Christ gives a blessing in the name-sign gesture, while in His left hand, extended to the side, He holds an open book containing a three-line inscription (John 8:12).
Christ is dressed in a red-brown chiton with a clavus and a blue-green himation. The cross-shaped gilded halo is decorated with engraved ornament and outlined with a red contour. Beneath Christ’s feet is a gray rectangular footstool.
The ground area is high, green, and decorated with brown vegetal motifs. The background is monochromatic and ochre-colored.
Panel with a recessed central area (kovcheh). A broad double red-and-green border runs around the perimeter.
